techAU-What we read #2

For this second post of our What we read column we have picked Aussie tech news site, techAU.tv

techAU has been around for now more than 3 years and has been launched by Victoria based Jason Cartwright, who describes himself as a tech enthusiast, which after reading his website you’ll find being an accurate description of Jason.

techAU covers a wide range of topics such as video gaming, tech products and smartphones, with hands-on reviews that never feel like a cut and paste from another source. For instance check out this recent review of Kinect.
On top of the articles you’ll find what was the core content of techAU in the begining: the podcasts. Jason has already wrapped up more than 50 of those and we encourage you to download them, here’s the latest’s one.

On top of that, if you like to stay up to date with Jason’s techAU  you can find his content on Twitter and Facebook.
The Twitter account is @techAU and there’s a Facebook page.

Ausdroid.net-What we read #1

The blog is about one month old now, and we have worked around a few recurrent categories like Game of the Week, What’s On or Recap of the Week, that you have apparently quite enjoyed, especially the contests ;-)
(Talking about contests, stay put because something is coming your way, and it’s going to be big, can’t tell you more! Teasing, teasing!)
Anyhow, I’m happy to present you today with a new category on the blog, the What we read articles. We spend a fair- hum,hum- amount of time playing games but also reading stuff on the web, and all this time reading made us realize that all the good stuff that we were seeing might interest you too. (Yeah, we get those type of moments :) ).
Instead of giving you a blunt list of articles, we keep that for the funny stuff in our What’s On, we will showcase in each of our posts one website with as much information on it as possible so that you can decide whether to put it on top of your RSS reader or not.

So let’s get cracking.

> Ausdroid.net

Android Australia

For this first showcase we have picked Melbourne based Ausdroid.net. It has been up and running since March, and was founded by Buzz Moody (Cool name btw).
Our overall goal is to spread the Android word throughout Australia.” is the mission of Ausdroid and they have been doing a great job at doing so. After a little bit more than 6 months it is definitely seen as a reference for Australian sourced info and it’s definitely where we turn our cursors when we want fresh Android news and local perspective. This is the best place to get all the latest rumours on up-coming devices that you have never heard of, or learn about the specificity of the OZ releases and Android news for your phone.

For instance check out this recent article on the price comparison of the Galaxy Tab for Telstra, Optus and Vodafone.

On top of that, if you like to stay up to date with their content and talk to them they are on Twitter and Facebook.
The Twitter account is @Ausdroid and they have a Facebook page.

Go and pay them a visit: ausdroid.net
